Welcome to the Albertville Primary Library and Computer Lab!

Today a reader, tomorrow a leader! ~ Margaret Fuller

Students come to the library once each six-day cycle for 30 minutes. During that time students will learn a quick lesson on how to use our school library. Afterwards, they will go to the reading corner and share a good read. The students may then check out one book.  These classes are taught by their classroom teacher but if you ever have a question or concern, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. B (Bauer) at carolynb@mystma.org

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. ~ Dr. Seuss

Our school library also houses our computer lab. Students visit the lab once or twice each six-day cycle for 30 minutes each time. During this time, your child will use a reading program called Lexia Core5®.

Lexia Core5® is a program that helps students at all reading levels, This program supports independent student-driven learning.

Over the course of the school year, your child will learn to use a mouse. This can be a challenge for students who've never used a digital device before and for those who've only encountered touch screens.

Your child will also learn:

  • The names for the parts of a computer
  • How to exit from a window
  • How to move a mouse accurately
  • How to hold the mouse still when clicking
  • How to click and how to click and drag
  • How to press a key lightly so only one letter is entered
  • How to log in/log off

Yes, kids love technology, but they also love Legos, scented markers, handstands, books, and mud puddles. It's all about balance. ~ Unknown
